My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

My friend is always telling me to look into photography as a profession but I am hesitant. I have been thinking about it for a while but I do not think I am good enough.I am 26, from Montreal, and just like many others I am completely lost in life! I have a degree in Oral History, I have worked for the cruise lines and taught in South Korea.I am extremely friendly and upbeat but when it comes to what it is that makes me get up in the morning all I can say is coffee. What I have been realizing is photography and the emotion that comes with it is something I have to pursue. How one set's up the shot, what led up to it, relationships with the subjects and most importantly what the photos did for them. I choose what to snap, I think about how it will affect the subject. Is it right to take the photo? How will it help them?I can’t say much that it gives them aid, but I would like to think that it gave them a peace in mind in seeing themselves, their homes, their family, their country. I want to use photos to show others, especially those directly connected to that photograph, that moment. That is how I would like to contribute my photography. This is it, I am not hesitating anymore!
