My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I am a 28 year old female living in London. I have been obsessed by travel photography since I embarked on a 11 month trip around Asia. Following this I returned home, saved up, bought myself a SLR and taught myself how to use it. After selling my soul working in advertising for 2 years, I decided I had learnt the basics and embarked on a 6 month trip around South America. Whilst there I set up working with an NGO in the Colombian Amazon and Rocinha, the largest favela in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.

Following this I returned to London for the 9 - 5 life to help me fund future personal projects. Since then I have taken myself and my camera to Italy, France, Namibia, Morocco, South Africa, Ethiopia, India and Cuba.

Since being back in the UK I have also started doing some wedding photography to help fund my future personal travel projects. As in 2013 I would like to visit Burma, Mexico and Botswana.

I have an insatiable desire to explore the world, absorb knowledge about other cultures and create beautiful visuals to communicate what I find to the rest of the world. It's when I am doing this that I feel I am being true to myself.
