Hi, my name is Nathan Spear I am thirty four years old and I live on the Gold Coast Australia. My love for photography started on my eighteenth birthday when my mother bought me my first SLR camera. Now sixteen years later when the free time to get out and take photos is harder and harder to find my love for photography has grown even stronger. My love of travel goes hand in hand with my love of photography and although it can be difficult to take a large kit every where I go I always manage to have some gear with me, I make every effort to capture images that stir emotions in my friends and family, and that either bring back memories or inspire them to get out and see the world through their own eyes.

Over the sixteen years that I have been taking photos my images have come a long way and I know that I still have much more to learn, I believe that given the opportunity to be involved in a trip like this, with a great photographer and team like Jason and every one at National Geographic the things that I can learn are unlimited and i will strive to take in every bit of knowledge that i can.
