Let's get some shoes!

THAILAND | Wednesday, 1 August 2007 | Views [572] | Comments [5]

Today we collectively bought 4 pairs of shoes. They are all really cute and very cheap! We went to this huge shopping mall for a few hours today. They had this amazing food court at the top. It was more like a gourmet cafeteria with bars for different types of food: thai, indian, italian, chinese, japanese, seafood, etc. It was delicious. The food here is awesome.

We have figured out our intinerary a bit more today. Tomorrow we are flying to Siem Reap in Cambodia, and we'll be there until the 5th. Then we are going to Phuket for a week, until the 12th, and then onto Chiang Mai.

Lisa wants you to know that the flight sucked for her because the guy next to her molested her. But the rest of us were fine. She also has pockets in her dress today and Kate has antagonized her about them all day.

Those shoes are MINE bitch!
love and miss you all....

p.s. Lisa you shouldn't have tried to cuddle with him, but if it makes you feel better, Kate is just jealous of the pockets. I bet her handbag is so full of crap, she wishes she had more pockets to put it all in....

Hi Cathlin!

I'm in Saigon (aka Ho Chi Minh City, to foreigners and Communists!). When you get to Vietnam, make sure you eat Pho - the best place is "Pho 24" in Saigon (39 Le Thi Hong Gam Street, District 1). I just had breakfast there for $4. Also have the coconut ice cream at "Kem Bach Dang" on Pasteur Street -- it's in walking distance of the Pho 24. Its served in a fresh coconut with watermellon, strawberry, pineapple, dried logan and other fruits with chocolate on the bottom @$1-$2. Both places are a bit "pricey" when you can get pho and ice cream for pennies, but well worth it. There's a also a shopping center close by with tons of shoes and cheap stuff but the prices ate 3 times as much as other cities like Da Lat and Nha Trang so be prepared to walk away if you don't like the price as there are tons of other vendors.

Make sure you visit Nha Trang, the beach is the cleanest in Vietnam. Take the tram to Vinpearl, it's an amusement park on an island that's nicely done -- VERY CLEAN and pretty, but go in the afternoon after 3 or 4 because it's HOT there and you'll sweat to death. I loved it there because it didn't seem so Third World and showed the potential of what Vietnam can become. There are also mud baths and hot springs in Nha Trang and you can get an hour massage for $5.

Ha Long Bay in the north is gorgeous -- take a boat ride through the islands, while Hue is pretty and poetic. The cities in the north are poorer and dirtier. I didn't like Hanoi all that much. It's probably due to the fact that it was so hot I wanted to cry everytime I stepped out of the hotel.

Hope you're having a great time. I leave for NYC tomorrow. Three weeks go by fast. Enjoy!

For the record, I am not jealous of the pockets. I will admit that I didn't know the dress had pockets at first... but I'm still anti-pocket. It's the principle dammit!

Sarah, if by "cuddle" you mean "scrunched myself as close to the window and away from him as possible," then yes, clearly I invited the molestation.

Kate, why hate on the pockets you didn't even know existed? For once, Acker's right, pure jealousy of the pockets.

Lisa, I saw you and you totally tried to cuddle with him. Don't try to deny it.

Sarah, please stop making me run into things. I have hit my head like three times in the past two days and I've decided it's your fault. Stop hurting me! I almost got a concussion yesterday.
