I'm currently working towards a masters degree in international affairs at Georgia Tech in Atlanta and one of my life goals is to see the world. I also want to change it for the better. I believe the best way to improve the world is by experiencing other cultures first hand and the best way to really understand the problems another group of people face is to take part in their daily life and activities. One part of this is their surrounding landscape but also their jobs, religion, government and family atmospheres. My photographs were taken at Anna Maria Island, FL, where my family vactions every summer. Beach life is very different and summer storms are part of life. You can watch them come across the island, followed by the sense of cleanliness and renewal the next morning. Often you go to one of the local piers watch birds fishing. Later that night lightning strikes in the ocean, but the next morning things go on as normal with birds searching for their next meal and casualties of the storm washed up on shore. I should be chosen because I love to travel and I love to take photographs. I pay attention to details and am awed by the sprawling vistas.
