Life in a Berber village, poor and beautiful.

Life in a Berber village, poor and beautiful.

Photography to me is what a yet unwritten book means to a writer. It is the thrill of the unknown, the burning desire to see new places and people, the power to experience and experiment! Like a faithful hunting dog, the camera pulls you by the strap until you see what it thinks you need to see. Taking pictures has taught me how to look at the world without the camera and see the big picture.

Volunteering in environmental causes as an amateur photographer has led me to realise that empathy is a far better creative inspiration than financial interest. While everyone is too busy to read in our hectic lives, images are getting better at delivering important messages about the world we live in. Travel photography is my way to convey my message.

The Photography Scholarship will be a perfect chance to step up and get out of my comfort zone. I already look forward to the challenges of taking images in a Muslim country when it comes to capturing a good portrait. Learning from a professional like Jason Edwards would be a priceless experience and a huge motivation for further hard work. Every click I make brings me closer to my first charity exhibition, closer to making a difference!
