My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I am not a professional photographer nor a regular traveler but I do have a thirst to explore and my greatest interests are markets and streets because that's where the life of a city is. In whatever little spare time I get, I make it a point to go to the Walled City of Lahore and explore the jam packed markets there. Sometimes I buy things, but mostly I just like to roam around and take in the buzz of that place. The winding streets, the crumbling pre partition architecture juxtaposed with the gaudy new plazas and most importantly the people always make for an interesting visit. My favorite place is Shahalam Market because I am a textile designer by profession and go there to source materials.

The scholarship to Oman will not only satisfy my thirst for exploration but also help me learn photography, something I seriously need as a future explorer. Though my experience is not much as a photographer but I capture what I like and keep it true to its essence. Being with Jason Edwards in a completely new culture would be the clichéd 'Dream Come True' for me and I can't wait to get started already.
