Machu Pichu magic
PERU | Thursday, 26 April 2007 | Views [343]
Woke up early today to catch the first bus up to Machu Pichu, decided we didn’t want to walk 7kms straight up the mountain at 4am. We got the first bus at 5.30am and entered the site with about 10 others. It was magical. We spent about 7 hours there wandering around and checking everything out. There was a baby llama born about 1 hour before we entered so we got to watch it figure out how it’s legs worked.
Machu was worth it in every way. We saw the seismic movement sensers measuring Machu’s movements. The site is slipping about 1cm a year so a landslide will eventually happen and Machu (or at least part of it) will be no more.
