    WELCOME ON BOARD The beach was almost empty but the boards were for rent all year around. I hesitated to try to ride one, I was working and couldn’t really afford to break a leg. The beach was highly lighted so the brave ones were able to ride the boards by night. by: pablomorgavi Views[318] TO KITE OR NOT TO KITE After a rainy day, I was glad it stopped, so I wonder around a little more. Andres, the “winged guy”, was not glad with the weather getting better, he needed the wind to take off and practice Kite. He was undecided, the wind was coming and going and he didn’t want to go deep inside and not be able to come back. by: pablomorgavi Views[229] SAUDADE Santos has the biggest port in South America and you can see ships going back and forth in the beaches nearby. I looked over these women who where staring at the sea for a long period of time, not moving. As I stare at the distance, I wonder what these women were looking for. Grandmother, mother and daughter were standing still. The little girl was moving her hand, playing with the wind in her dress. Perhaps they were waiting for that ship, the one that brings back a loved one. That day I started to understand the unstranslatable word “saudade” they use in Brazil. by: pablomorgavi Views[517] THE PELÉ TO BE Taking a long walk at the beach, I sat to rest near a group of children playing soccer that caught my eye, specially this one with red shorts. Being aware that soccer is as bigger as religion here (like from I come from too) and also knowing Pele “O Rei do Futebol / The King of Soccer” played many years at Santos Soccer Club, I watched amazed on how it felt like his feet was magnetized to the ball. by: pablomorgavi Views[259]
