I'm Gwendolyn Alley aka Art Predator! Have Macbook Air, will travel! And blog, tweet, Facebook like mad!

As an established blogger, top social media influencer, and popular college writing professor, I have been a featured speaker at the International Food Bloggers Conference and at the Wine Bloggers Conference, I’ve attended seven Wine Bloggers Conferences in three countries (winning three scholarships), and I’ve led a writing workshop on a Nile Cruise.  I’ve also attended WordCamp in San Francisco and Los Angeles.

As Art Predator, I'm on the prowl for the aesthetic—that which engages the whole soul, according to Coleridge. Wine, food, travel: I’m always looking for exciting experiences to share with my readers and subscribers.

My adventures include
--backpacking 2800 miles from Mexico to Canada--I was one of the first 20 women to complete the whole Pacific Crest Trail. They don’t call me a “wash’n’wear” kind of gal for nothing!
--living and traveling the west in my VW van for 6 months including two months climbing and backpacking in Wyoming
--hooting for spotted owls for three months in the Sierras
--living in my van for three weeks in New Mexico atttending and competing in the Taos Poetry Circus then teaching yoga at Julia Cameron's creativity camp in Taos
--travels to hot springs in my van in Baja California
--traveling with my son in Nicaragua
--hiking the Inca trail in Peru and hiking into Machhu Picchu at night on the eve of my birthday
--being a peregrine falcon parent for two months near San Diego
--press wine tours of Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, and Portugal
--teaching mountaineering for three summers in Colorado
--10 days in Egypt just before the Revolution
--Burning Man Festival 15 times, Lucidity, Lightening In A Bottle, Coachella

I am thrilled by the opportunity to share with readers the joys of the journey and what I learn. With my background in creative writing, environmental studies, and ecopsychology, I write with flair about the land and the people, because as lovely as the cuisine may be, it’s the stories that surround them that create a full aesthetic experience which “engages our souls.”
