Flight to Thailand

I discovered about 8 hours before I fly to Thailand that a visa for more than 30 days has to be obtained from the Thai consulate before departure. Well, I had a ticket for more than 30 days but it was too late to get a visa from the consulate, 8 hours before I fly was 6pm and everywhere in Calcutta was closing down. Well, I made my way to the airport and explained the situation to the nice man in the Thai airways office and he, with the minimum of fuss changed my return date to less than 30 days. All very exciting, and stressful. I need a beer.
