After Prague I went to Switzerland. I had two friends, Pascal and Sven who lived near Basel which is right at the border between Switzerland, Germany and France, and Sven offered me a place to stay at his house in Gempen. Turned out to be the best move I ever made. His parents and practically his whole village were extremely welcoming and made sure I had a blast.

On the first night we went out to a nightclub and had a few beers. I did this thing called an A2 shot, which involves an expresso coffee, sugar, 80% rum and some fire. Was pretty cool.

On Saturday Sven drove me to Lucerne which was this beautiful town at the bottom of some mountains. Took some great pictures, although I don't actually have them uploaded yet, you will have to wait for Spain. That night I ate a traditional swiss meal at a restaurant which was probably the most daring meal I've had. Included: Blood Sausage, Liver Sausage, Pig Throat, and Pig Tongue. I did not really like the Blood Sausage, but everything was good, even if it felt a little weird eating the tonuge. Went to this local bar that half the village was at, and everyone was happy to meet me. About half of them have been to Australia or New Zealand, which is kind of weird, but it just seems to be really common amongst Sven's friends. I managed to pay for one drink for the night, everyone refused to let me because I was the 'guest'. Was really fun.

Sunday we did some more sightseeing and I Svens parents made me another tradional Swiss meal. This one involved lots of cheese, putting them on these big spoon things that melted them then pouring it over things like: potato, bread, olives, capsicum, tomato etc. And cheese over pairs, which is actually pretty good. Oh yeah, also had a giant brunch with lots of crazy stuff I've never had, different types of cheese, dried meat and this other thing that was good but I forgot its name. Greating writing this.

Monday another brunch, along walk and another tradional meal that was mainly pasta, cheese, potato and ham, but was really good and they actually mix apple sauce with it. Again, I didn't expect it would be good but it was.

Now I am in Istanbul but just got here, so more on that later. In summary Switzerland was awesome, scenery was great, and people were the nicest I've ever experienced.
