Out of Africa

My Scholarship entry - African Safari

One of the strangest things about visiting Africa from an Australian point of view is the massive similarities between the two countries. The climate and landscapes are very familiar and it was hard to believe we had flown halfway round the world...until you see a Giraffe. This was one of the first Giraffes we saw on the trip, and seeing a creature this tall, and this unique was absolutely breathtaking.
A characteristic of a Maasai Giraffe (as opposed to Reticulated) is their darker colouring, however this particular Giraffe was stunning; almost black in colour.
