My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

My name is Matt, I am 22 years of age and live in Sydney, Australia.
At a young age I fell in love with cinema, and in recent years, since attending university I began experimenting with photography.
I love hearing the stories of others, absorbing their knowledge and submitting myself to the customs of their lifestyles. In my travels, I have found that the greatest experiences often occur quite serendipitously and without expectation. These are the unique experience that I aim to capture and share with others.
Directing attention to small details as well as capture things on a large scale is what I love most about photography. What I love about the expanses of landscapes is that they have the power to remind you how small you are in the grand scheme of things. I find this to be poignant in a calming and relieving way.
Ever since I can remember, my parents have encouraged me to travel, far and wide. This coupled with my interests in geography and taste for culture has inspired me to seek an occupation as a travel photographer/cameraman. I think that I would be the perfect candidate for this scholarship as because of my enthusiasm and willingness to try anything and everything.
