I've worked as a journalist since the age of 18 and sometimes take my own photos for stories. I started taking photos when I was 12 years old and since then have traveled extensively and always with a camera. I have a real sense for adventure and love engaging with new places, people and cultures. I find that writing and photography is a great way to explore our world. My photography could be better though. I'm not a professional photographer as don't earn an income off it and lack quite a bit of the technical know-how. I'm hoping to be inspired by this fellowship, not just to take better photos but also to continue this journey of knowing the earth. I'm hoping also to produce photos that relate the beauty of Peru and inspire others to travel there. I love the outdoors and live in Cape Town, a city where we're surrounded by nature that calls us to explore it daily. Photography is an excellent storytelling means to inform others about the world around us. I want to be an exceptional visual storyteller.
