My Scholarship entry - Intimate Versus Vastness
Australia | Monday, November 17, 2014 | flickr photos
My name is Will Joseph and I have just completed year 12 at Hobart College. I have been taking photos for as long as I can remember but recently I have been exploring Nightscape photography.
I live in Hobart, Tasmania, which gets a lot of Aurora activity and I have been taking photos of Aurorae as much as possible as well as the night sky and The Milky Way.
My photography work this year was based around the idea of intimate versus vastness, and I achieved this by taking photos of a man-made objects (buildings, roads, etc) and comparing them with the vastness of space. As well as my school work I have also been taking photos for a local snowboarding brand, with my photos being used for t-shirts and posters.
I believe that I should be chosen because it would be the best way for me to start my professional photography career as an adult, and I would learn so much about photography and the world from this experience.
