I am a student at Northeastern University in Boston, Mass. I am working towards a combined major in journalism and media & screen studies, and a minor in photography. I have loved traveling from a young age and was introduced to photography by my father when I was 13. I hope to be a photo journalist or travel photographer later in life.

I was born in Germany and have traveled extensively my entire life. I love traveling because I love to experience new people, places, and foods; I love to immerse myself in an unknown culture. I'm inherently curious about the world, and would be honored to be given the opportunity to experience an unknown part of it.

I feel that my curriculum as a journalism, media and screen studies, and photography student makes me uniquely qualified for this scholarship. I am immersed in a world of learning, and traveling with Jason Edwards would give me the chance to not only continue that learning, but also put that learning into practice.

I would be extremely excited to portray the story of my travels and the life of the Amazon through my pictures and words with the help and mentoring of Jason Edwards. Only so much can be learned in a class room.
