This is the entrance to Labuk Bay Proboscis monkey sanctuary. Not very impressive and not very interesting you might say. I should title this picture "Irony", the santuary was set up by a palm oil plantation owner in the middle of his palm oil plantation, the very thing that is destroying the habitat of the Proboscis monkey and creating the need for sanctuary's like these.

If he could talk what would he say? Stop destroying my habitat? The expression of sadness on this male Proboscis monkey says it all. Very soon, in order to see one of these bizarre looking mammels you will have no choice but to visit a zoo or a

At Labuk Bay, the Proboscis monkeys are fed on platforms opposite viewing areas for tourists. In the wild, they don't only feed at 10:30am & 3pm daily... I think they made a spelling mistake on the sign out front, what they meant to spell was A-T-T-R-A-C-T-I-O-N.
