My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

USA | Monday, June 10, 2013 | 5 photos

It wasn’t until a chance visit to an exhibition of the ‘world press photo competition’ in Scotland of 2010 that I really understood the power a single image can have. This exhibition changed my perception entirely. Since then I have studied photography academically (A*) and been an avid follower of such groups as magnum, Francesco Giusti, Charles Ommanney and ‘world press.’ The main focus for me is social documentary, I aim to capture some form of human interaction with the majority of my images.

I have always been fascinated by new experience and cultures, and have always aimed to experience those I have been fortunate enough to visit as authentically as possible.

Now on track to a 1st in Design at Goldsmiths university, London, England, I have decided that I am to make a concerted effort to break into the highly competitive world photojournalism and it is my honest belief that learning hands on experience with people that have a real passion for what they do is the best way to learn and this is why I would be so grateful if you would consider me for this fantastic opportunity to learn from a true professional in the industry and set my carear off down the correct path.
