My Scholarship entry - Live, feel, savour
Senegal | Friday, November 21, 2014 | flickr photos
I love photography for all its technicalities, artistry and storytelling of the photographer. As a child, my father would always have his camera with him capturing everyday family moments, celebrations and travels across Chile, Brazil and the UK. Photographs have filled our walls and decorated the glass tables of our family home and brought great emotions, reminiscing and savouring times gone by. Having been passionate about the arts, I bought my own DSLR 3 years ago following a dance injury. Photography allowed me to be a part of, and share dance, music and events from a different perspective.
I am not professionally trained but I love experiencing life with my camera by my side, capturing life as it happens and trying to capture the essence of the moment. Travels to Senegal, Spain and Switzerland has also engaged me with other landscapes, cultures and people which I find hugely inspiring. I would love to win this scholarship to be mentored by Jason Edwards and benefit from his professional expertise as a photographer who I aspire to be like; developing his art and passion by living, travelling and through trial and error. I am ready to grow!
