My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Japan | Tuesday, May 28, 2013 | flickr photos

When I started out in photography, a professional sports photographer friend actually asked me what genre I had interested in. My response was Landscape and the irony of this was that I was born and breed in Singapore - a bustling city with almost zero natural landscape features, and having never live in another city before, it was something that I stuck to over the years and a skill i had honed to be proud of.

Although pale in comparison with many landscape artist I have seen, my photos are technically sound but lacks the artistic flare which I so desperately seek. I want to learn from the best and I regularly attend photo seminars held in Singapore by Nat Geo and their photographers - thou extremely rare if the topic covers purely landscape.

I have seldom entered in Photo competitions but I continually seek to learn from the best in order to become like the best. I have always wanted a mentor but locally in Singapore its next to impossible finding someone whose photography skills and artistry are amongst the best and nothing would excite me more than learning from Masters of Photography and how they view the world through their viewfinder.
