My Scholarship entry - Life along a Lagoon
India | Sunday, November 23, 2014 | 4 photos
I am a 21-year-old nature lover who has been pursuing photography since the past 3-4 years. Nature and wildlife have been an integral part of my life and I spend a substantial portion of my time traveling to various forests. I am also an avid bird watcher.
As a photographer most of my journeys have been centered around traveling to less frequented habitats to record the resident species and the native people who inhabit the area. My drive to click is derived purely out of my love for nature and a want to learn more about it.
Since, I am inclined towards conservation photography, I see my skills to document nature and man-nature interactions evolving through the scholarship. Apart from giving me an opportunity to travel to one of the most bio-diverse regions on earth, the scholarship shall also enable me to learn on field.
Having trekked in the Western Ghats rain-forests in monsoon, I understand the challenges of photographing in an evergreen forest.
In future, I wish to dedicate myself to documenting the diversity across varied biomes. And through my photographs and stories, I hope to sensitize people to the plights of nature and the people who live in oneness with it.
