My Scholarship entry - New Discoveries, New Outlooks, New Zealand

New Zealand | Wednesday, November 19, 2014 | 5 photos

In year 10 I was diagnosed with Epilepsy & my world came crashing down. My neurologist said that all my previous hopes & dreams would never be achievable. I withdrew from mainstream school due to my inability to engage & effectively learn from the education provided by the school I was attending. My parents supported my decision at the time & took me away to New Zealand for almost a month. The trip was very impromptu & focused on all the amazing sights & natural wonders of New Zealand. There were countless times I just stood speechless and in awe of the sheer size & beauty of the country that I slowly come to the realisation that there are hundreds of opportunities & experiences to be had far beyond the imaginable dreams of my younger self!

Returning home, I completed senior & in a couple of weeks I will graduate university. Life holds the potential to be amazing & the world we live in deserves our time to discover all its wonders. Photography has been my way of doing this, of sharing the wonders both at home & from adventures afar. I would love to be chosen to be mentored in the field & grow my capabilities to more accurately capture my passion for this world in which we live!
