My Scholarship entry - A hitchhikers view to the land of the free
I'm currently sat in the bath of a stranger in Denver Colorado. I'm a 26 ear old English woman who has spent the past 3 months shooting a documentary about hitchhiking in America. I have been hoping into cars from all the way in Alaska, and im on route to arrive in New York in early November. Hitchhiking is a truly liberating form of travel, and I have been filming and snapping shots which try to capture the essence of the road.
My journey demonstrates two essential features that make me a perfect candidate to go to the Amazon. The fact that I am travelling and documenting life this way, demonstrates my inherent capacity for unusual travel, my passion for adventure and my aptitude for organisation in unusual situations.
I am healthy, competent, friendly, I have street smarts, I am an intellectual. I would be a safe, adventurous, attentive and engaged companion. I have hiked formidable mountains and rested under the high canopies of rain-forests. Documentation is my life, I have already taken a huge step towards solidifying m career; this opportunity would be another chance to develop my skills, in unusual and divine circumstances!
