My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

Worldwide | Tuesday, November 8, 2011 | 5 photos

The opportunity to participate with World Nomads and the National Geographic Society would be the chance to finally arrive at the right place in my life!

Basically I could define myself as the engineering student who got used to listen that was always at the wrong place, because what I love, in fact, is to travel, take risks, never forgetting to engage in my eyes a photographic lens. The office worker who can not spend too much time behind a computer screen without looking out the window and evaluate whether the light would be good for shooting or where would the planes around be going to.

I would do everything possible not to loose details taught by people who inspire me, to achieve the photos that excites me and to tell stories and feelings through a picture. It would be the opportunity to learn how to put into practice the certainty that I have on the ability of an image to excite people. And that is what the pictures I subscribe here try to do. They try to give people a lifestory, the whole life of a beloved 1 year old little girl and her young family.

To shorten explanations, a passage of a Brazilian traveler, Amyr Klink, which I carry on my pockets:
"A man must travel. By his own, not through stories, pictures, books or TV. He has to travel by himself, with his own eyes and feet, to understand what is his. To plant one day his own trees and give them value. Knowing the cold to enjoy the heat. And the opposite. Feel the distance and homelessness to feel right under his own roof. A man must travel to places that he does not know to break this arrogance that makes us see the world as we imagine and not simply as it is or should be; which makes us teachers and doctors of what we have not seen, when we should be students, and simply go see." (translated).
