This is an attempt to show the old style drama performance in rural India which are on the brink of extinction thanks to the satellite TV’s.
On the night there was a procession of Lord Krishna and a drama performed in my native village. The drama is called “Draupadi Vastraharan” an important part from the great epic Mahabharata. All the performers were from the village itself with very little or no acting experience, they worked in the farms during the day and practised during the night for more than a month.
The various colours used by the make-up artist. None of them are tested face paints but just few chemicals mixed to get desired colours and the glue used to fix flat tyres used to paste the moustache and beard.
