My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

When we are children, our teachers ask us all that same question: what do we want to be when we are older. Some say doctors or writers or other ideal occupations, I told them I wanted to be an explorer. Years later this desire has pretty much stuck true, though the same desire has developed into a passion for the art of capturing the world and all who inhabit it. I am the only individual among my peers who has stuck to that original dream of mine, the only one courageous and maybe even crazy enough to follow it all the way through until the end. I have devoted my life to my intense love of travel and photography, and my crazy burning passion has already sent me to Europe and South America where I was able to work closely and intimately with the strangers who I came to love and to immerse myself in such beautiful cultures. I am an artist with a dangerous case of wanderlust who simply cannot wait to explore a new frontier, who would do anything to learn from and hone her skills with a National Geographic photographer. This is the dream- to learn, to experience, and to live. I have the passion, I have the drive, and most importantly the desire to learn. I deserve to win this!
