My Scholarship entry - Images from a country that is growing every day to
I am a photographer and filmmaker. Some of my work has been a part of a travelling exhibition by The Photographic Angle. I contributed photos to Project Cinema City at NGMA. Some published photos are included in- Great Travel Photography by Imagine books; as cover image by Packt Publishers. Online publications include Live Mint, Guardian, Le Journal de la Photographie, Blouin Art Info, FWA, Wall Street International, & International Street Photographer.
I was the winner of the Tamron Travel Photo Competition and the India Is Photography Challenge 2012.
I was winner of Chance of a Lifetime, a documentary series as part of which I directed three short documentary films on the UN Millennium Development Goals. The winning film was screened at the UN Headquarters, New York.
The scholarship offers one of the most enriching programs that gives young people a chance to get to know South America, its rich history and people, and a glimpse of the Amazon. I have always wanted to travel the world, and to photograph a part of the world that is otherwise so inaccessible is a truly exciting prospect. I hope to interact with different people, know their lives, and understand their stories.
