My Scholarship entry - Humility

Having spent the past month in Japan and having my camera by my side that question still lingers whether I should have studied Photography. The uncertainty with a career in photography was daunting and ultimately my head won over my heart. Though it has continued to be a passion of mine throughout my studies. Photography has continued to be a strong interest of mine, I am rarely able to switch off from it and always think about what would make a good photo, even more so now I have graduated and had more time to spend wandering and exploring. My grandfather was interested in photography and the photos of us as children are very special, all the more so that my interest and talent for taking photos seem to stem from him. I wish I were able to discuss with him all that he knew, which may well be a great deal more than I know now. I have always had a passion for landscape photography, particularly while travelling, the built environment and architecture. More recently my passion for taking candid photos has developed, as I have travelled across Japan, and tried to capture the culture. Since I've returned Ive hoped for the opportunity to explore and capture new horizons.
