A memorial consisting 185 empty chairs, each unique to represent the people who died in the February 2011 earthquake. It's easy to become over whelmed by the structural damage in the city, especially as a visitor. This memorial, created by local artist Pete Majendie, is a striking visual representation of the humanity of the earthquakes.
