Oman: A Place I Once Took for Granted I'm Raya, an Arab-American finishing up my last year at the University of New Hampshire. I will be getting my degree in English/Journalism, with the hopes of one day becoming a photojournalist.

This is a view out of the United Media Services building where I interned at during the summer in 2012 shadowing photographers. My experiencing while interning at UMS mimics this photo, seeing an opportunity, something beautiful, but only being able to capture parts of it. Being a women photographer who is American in an office of Indians and Omanis posed many barriers I had to overcome thus depressing my confidence and creativity with taking photos. Nevertheless, something beautiful emerged from this experience- I am glad I have this photo to remind myself.
