My Scholarship entry - people from wirikuta

Mexico | Monday, November 24, 2014 | 5 photos

My name is Omar Cordova and I am from Mexico. Since I was a kid, I have always been attracted to the visual arts. As a teenager I bought my first camera and got registered in a photography course. There I learned the mechanisms of the camera and how to process negatives in a dark room.

My life changed drastically and I had to leave aside photography for several years. I immigrated to Canada and got a job in construction. Thanks to that job I have retaken my passion for photography, and started with photography school again.

For me photography is like a journal, the pictures are my autobiography and even do I like all kinds of photography, I feel a stronger connection when I capture real things rather than the ones designed for a specific purpose. For me the ideal photography should be explained by itself. When I grab a camera I try to compose an image that attracts and awaken the emotions I am living in that moment and that I can take to the spectators.

I have always been adventurous, I enjoy being with nature and I am truly interested in the indigenous lifestyle and keen to meet anyone who has been able to keep the rich culture and history of those beautiful places.
