My affair with the camera spanned 4 years as a teen before I put it away for 14 years to pursue being a pro drummer. 2014 saw me return to photography in a big way. Studying music instilled in me the importance of having more technique & music in you than necessary so in any moment your expression will unfold naturally. This approach is mirrored in my photography. ??

What drives me to take a better shot is doing justice to the story that remains to be told. In photojournalism/travel photography the story is paramount. People of any background can relate to images telling real stories, of real people & cultures. It's a unique platform where the viewer and photographer exchange narratives in a visceral & undiluted way, of the unique, dramatic & the incredible of our planet. I love THIS! AND it combines my love for history, culture & nature.

?I strongly believe in mentorship & doing more assisting to gain vital professional experience to improve my skills & consistency to help launch myself into the industry. To be able to make a sustainable living out of travel photography to me would be amazing & assignments like this scholarship are the stuff dreams are made of. Pick me!
