My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

My name is Norman Kahler and I grew up in a very small neighborhood located in Boise, Idaho. It was located on the outskirts of Boise essentially in the middle of nowhere. All around us was nothing but fields, hills, and mountains that small animals such as deers and birds would often occupy or walk through. Myself and the friends I had that lived in the same neighborhood would also occupy these fields giving us something to during the summer or after school. My most memorable experiences though were during the winter time when snow would fall in heavy amounts in these fields. I was never sure of the reason, but the sight of lots of snow fall in a rural setting always made me feel a sense of calmness. I had spent the first fifteen years of my life living at that house and grew an appreciation for nature and everything Earth and mother nature had offer especially snow. That is why an opportunity like this one being provided would be the ultimate experience for me given the past experiences I have had in my childhood. I feel that having already developed a strong appreciation for nature in a small town such as rural Boise that I could appreciate and utilize it in just about anywhere.
