Monks in Ladakh live a life which is very different from others .This photo is of Diskit Monastery also known Deskit Gompa in the Nubra valley founded in 14th century. The monk’s day begins with prayer ( called as Puja in Hindi ) at 4 in the morning.Here are a group of monks praying.

To survive in such a harsh and cold climate in Ladkah ( It goes upto -20 to -30 °C in winters) , food plays an important role.. The Preparations begins early in the morning with monks working together.

Meditation is one of the most important thing in a monk’s life.The practice helps them in self realization and attaining a relation with the god . A Monk here is meditating and trying to find his inner solace.
