My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
India | Friday, July 5, 2013 | 5 photos
I grew up wanting to make the next reboot of Star Trek but was beaten to the chase by J.J. Abrams. I've played the saxophone, tried my hand at acting and found myself going to film school for the last three years. I've worked in the indie industry as an assistant director and while it's been fun, I recently rekindled a love for photography when I was studying in India early this year. Since then, I have been trying to figure out how to make the switch from organizational duties on set to how to understand organization within a frame. I found I was happiest stalking the monkeys and goats with my zoom lens than I had ever been before. I would really appreciate the opportunity to learn more about capturing the moment, especially in places that are unfamiliar to my cityscape childhood.
I was born in Singapore and have since lived in Coventry, California and Canada. Maybe because my roots have never been firm in any one country, I am constantly enamoured by the difference a couple of hours can make between a city or landscape. After my first two months in India, I have continued to travel throughout Europe and am currently calling Paris my home for the summer.
