    Views[247] My roommate and I at orientation during the second week. He will help teach and translate with me for the next six weeks. Views[308] Views[297] Another view of my homestay. The kitchen is the wooden structure on the far left. The gated area is where the chickens, goats and cow are and usually where I brush my teeth. The blue bucket on the ground in the center is used for everything. So far I have washed my hands in it before dinner, washed my clothes in it and took a shower using it. The dog is curled up right behind the blue bucket and is fairly mellow except when I want to get into the house at night.     Here is a partial view of the rooms that all the volunteers and Tanzanian teaching partners stayed in for the first week of orientation. I was in the building on the far right on the second floor. Our room consisted of a concrete floor, four pads, four bug nets and a room for a bathroom that was never finished. only two out of the four people in our room got locked inside at one point.
