Hi I'm Matt, I'm 24 and living near Cambridge in the UK.

I studied motorsport engineering at university and landed myself my dream job: designing racing cars for the Le mans 24 hours. This sounds ideal... but the thought of spending the next 40 years of my life behind a desk is absolutely terrifying to me!

Throughout university, through the clubs i was involved with and the friends i met, I went from being a comfort seeking scaredy-cat to a bold adventurer. I have found myself with a thirst for adventure, to see the world, and to share what i see with my family and friends.

One of the things i like most about traveling is seeing the world through fresh eyes, and taking pictures to record this feeling. I've recently found a passion for photography after dusting of my dads old Nikon film SLR and buying my first 'proper' camera. This was put to good use on my recent trip to iceland, which is my chosen image collection.

Winning this competition would be truly life changing for me, It would be a dream come true to learn from a national geographic photographer, and enable me to take a leap of faith, get out of the office, and into the world of travel photography & Writing.
