My name is Madelyn Bangs and I am an aspiring photo journalist. I believe that images, provide us with a gate way to a world we may not have known. Whether it be from the neon lit streets of Vegas to the mountainous tribes in Peru. It expands the mind and inspires the spirit. At least, this is what I hope to do. With my photographs, I hope to inspire people to look beyond their own door ways and educate themselves about the world they are a part of. I would be a good choice because of my own willingness to learn and my hunger for adventure. With this trip I hope to learn new skills and bring back experiences to carry with me my whole life. Photography has been a huge part of my life since I was a child when my dad would pose me in our backyard for silly pictures among the daisies. I've found it to be a calming outlet and an excuse to take forever on nature hikes. The fact that this opportunity is available to me is so amazing and I wish to take full advantage of this chance to learn what I can and have an incredible adventure.
