My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
My passion is People and Story telling in the art form of photography.
I would classify myself as a liquorice all sorts whose current base is Australia. I was born in Africa but have lived in England, New Zealand and now the Gold Coast.
The love of photography was passed on to me by my late father, while we were living in Africa. Dad taught me to Freeze memories in TIme for future generations to enjoy. These memories filled an enormous void for my five siblings and I while my mom lay dying from cancer. I grabbed the screen and slide projector and old cines we made it was a great method of counselling. We relived our childhood memories and absorbed them like molecules of water in a desert.
I painstakingly found every slide and memory I could lay my hands on, once it was over I hopped on a plane and jetted home to NZ. A flood of memories came back as I remembered how my photographic journey had begun, when my dad gave me a vivatar camera, it took shocking photos compared to my Dad's SLR Nikon but I thought I was the bees knees. This is where my photo journey began.
Why me because I have the most to learn, I am not afraid of roughing it and scared of hard work. I
