My Scholarship entry - Smallholder Farmers in a World of Changes

Knowing nuances of evolution & deeply understanding nature I find photography the way to convey a message, fulfilling exploration urges & giving voice to who, in ephemeral silence & harmony, wouldn´t be listened otherwise. I shoot since I was 10. First working on film, on digital, I mastered edition & DSLRs. By the time I learned to shoot, I learned travelling & since then I´ve backpacked through 60 countries (I speak 5 languages). I graduated in Forestry & worked for several NGOs & lately to UNDP as forest specialist – this gave me the opportunity to shoot livelihoods in Africa, Asia & Amazon. Volunteering, I produced useful material for several agencies. I see working for NatGeo more than a dream, a way of life. I´ve placed myself in extreme situations & enjoyed. I lived 3 years in Brazilian Amazon, being responsible for logistics in places where nobody has been before. I know how to shoot, integrate, become part of the environment, read & understand my surrounds – I know how to adapt & survive but most of all, I enjoy & appreciate every terrible and every marvelous moment which photography has proportioned. I´m taking a leap, I´m becoming a photographer & this is the opportunity
