My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I’m Lina, 25 years old and I’m from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I just graduated from a filmmaking degree, in which I specialized in cinematography, and I am about to start in September a photography course at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy, in Holland.I like pictures that have an impact as an image but mostly that tell you a story. Photographing short films I had the opportunity to think of stories and how do I want to represent them through images, what kind of light and composition would be more interesting to it. I like when pictures have this mixed feeling of reality, dream and memory. I love isolated landscapes, and that’s why I think this is a one in a life opportunity to me. This is my dream job, taking photographs of landscapes, wildlife and remote communities in a way to show a world that is incredible and so far away from us, almost like another planet. I’m interested in subjects that make us think about the origins of the world and it’s history. I think this scholarship would be amazing because I could get to help Jason and also learn a lot about this work. I would be really happy to share with Jason all the knowledge but also the state of mind this work puts you into.
