My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

I'm Portuguese and I've study Psicology at College.
My big pasion since I was a teenager was being a travel photographer but a carreer's oportunity has never arrived... Maybe Portugal is to peripherical to be discovered as an emerging talent in photography...
I see this chance as a one life time achievement. A real oportunity to go further on my passion and maybe a real chance to start working as a travel photographer.
My serie of presented pictures were taken in a Children's Cancer Hospital in Cairo, Egypt, and they aim to show optimism in a situation where normally people would look for suffering and despair. After all 5357 is not a regular hospital but an institution where everyone tries to make a difference and work in order to create a better world.
