My Scholarship entry - Natural World

My name is Jordan Dooley, I'm 20 years old and I've been into photography for about 5 years now. When I first started off, I had no idea what I was doing, but I knew I wanted to be able to take amazing photographs like I had seen so many people take, so I decided to get a nice camera. I bought a Nikon D3000 and played around with it until I figured out the basics of how to use the manual setting, and haven't turned back since.
I would like to think the quality of my photographs have excelled dramatically, and only seem to improve with every click.
I try and use natural lighting whenever I can and I don't really like setting up a photograph, I feel as though a real in the moment picture, shows the real emotion of the scene and best describes it for others.
Im currently traveling Canada, taking my camera with me along the way and have captured some really nice shots (in my opinion). I will always love photography, its my greatest passion. I would love to take it to the next level but I'm am no professional and am at the point where I don't know where to go next. I would love the opportunity to learn from you, and would take it with great pride. Thanks for your time.
