This is Mr. Nik. He lives a few blocks away, but his family owns a cane field behind my neighbourhood. The cane are harvest once in a year. After it's being harvested, the remaining plants have to be burnt before the farmers could plant the new plants. Mr. Nik works as a factory labor on week days and takes care of his field on Sundays.

The effects of a growing city is the growth of the housing which can expand to the far side of the city. Most affordable housing are small houses, built from what used to be a farming field. Some field still existing between those houses, like this chili field that is being harvest by Lastri. She is one of the locals that lives behind my neighbourhood and still owns her family field. Her sons have all grown up and chose to move to a bigger city rather than to be a farmer like their parents.
