My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Madagascar | Tuesday, July 2, 2013 | 5 photos

I have spent the last 26 years of my life learning about what I can give to the world. I was always surrounded by nature and all it had to offer. I spent hours in my backyard, nearby forests, ponds, and creeks, watching tadpoles become frogs, planting seeds, waiting as flowers bloomed, and asking questions. This sparked my interest in the natural world and fuelled my passion for conservation. After high school I took a gap year in South Africa, where my passion for photography began. Since then I have traveled to Belize, Australia, the deserts in the USA, countries in Southern Africa, and most recently Madagascar.
Traveling made me realize just how passionate about photographing conservation issues around the world is to me. By utilizing photography, I aspire to lead a life dedicated to helping solve the problems that humans have brought upon the environment, and help to prevent such issues from arising. Visuals are a powerful motive and can help inspire people to change.
I am outgoing, passionate and I will wake up at all hours to get the perfect shot. This is a tough field to break into and I know any advice that Jason could give me would mean a world of difference.
