Bombay by the Bay

My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

Kuldeep Chaudhari, an investment post graduate by education but now a freelance photographer based out of Mumbai. Photography did not come as an obvious career choice while growing up. It was while working in the finance sector, he realised that seeing things and capturing moments makes him more happy than working endlessly to increase some else’s net worth and he decided to make his hobby a profession. A nature lover since childhood, he is an avid trekker & traveler. He mainly shoots on streets of Mumbai as far as the personal work is concerned. Wandering aimlessly and endlessly on the streets of the city as and when possible, exploring it bit by bit and then getting surprised by the beauty the streets have to offer amazes him. It has helped a lot in opening up his mind and he is becoming more concerned and sensitive towards the world around him. Photography has not only helped him grow in confidence but also contributed towards making him a more responsible individual.

The city waterfronts have always attracted me many other photo enthusiast over the years. These full of life places offer countless photo opportunities.
As a kid this was my favourite hang out place with friends & family whenever I would get bored of playgrounds & parks. As the time went on increasing encroachments ate every available acre of this city leaving beach side the only place for recreational activities. Like me, people come here to find peace or an escape from the daily hectic life. They look at the waters with their back turned to the chaotic city life, for a while at least. Bombay by the bay is a selection of images of the Mumbai's western coast that I took while I was finding some peace for myself.
