Among the self-proclaimed “chapullers” (an Anglicized-version of the Turkish word “capulcu,” or marauder) in Taksim Square and Gezi Park, Guy Fawkes masks became a popular fashion statement. These teenage boys took the rebellious spirit a step further and posed with their masks on top of a destroyed public bus.
