My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Philippines | Monday, July 8, 2013 | 4 photos

Being a big family, there were more important needs to spend money on than photography, which was costly then.Much as I loved to take up photography as an elective in college,I had no camera.I only got one 10 years later while working as an OFW in the UAE.I took pictures of almost everything.I was trigger happy.I cared less on which genre to focus on.All I wanted was to take and share photos that could inspire and convey message. With work not allowing me to pen my experiences,I turned to photography--easier,graphic!But while it allowed me to take good pictures and it was easy to carry, there were shots that I just couldn’t do so with only a point and shoot.I got a user-friendly DSLR 3 years later.Fitting for one who learns faster and better by actual experience.Manuals are too technical for me to understand plus I always have time issues.I am happy when I have shots that I feel need only a little or no editing.Of course, such only happen after several tries.I want to learn more about photography and be a photojournalist for real.Meantime I am glad that whenever I need to get away from my daily routine,it offers me relief and achieve what I hope to with it,no matter how small it may be.
