My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

I was born restless, and though I probably shouldn't admit this, I only feel alive when I'm on the road- when I'm seeing new faces, hearing new sounds, picking up exotic fragrances in the wind, sitting in the back pew of an empty church in a city I've only just met. But I know it wouldn't mean anything if I couldn't share it with the people I love. That's why take photos.
The photo of the candy is a mini mart in Curacao. I like it because what you don't see is the iron bars that lock in customers like a small jail cell. Another photo is of a waiter on an afternoon break near my favorite bridge-the Rialto in Venice. There is something very peaceful about this moment, no sense of impending change or grand arrival, just calm. Another is of a street musician- the violin has always moved me more than any other instrument. I included the goat photo because it makes me smile, and it reminds me of a charming Italian boy who took me to visit the farm:) The last photo was taken around sunset in Silverlake California- my muse and her musician having a dance....
